Flaws & All...Tips from Essence Magazine & Will Smith

Hey Hunnybee's!

As you have read in my previous post, the Queen Hunny Bee has been looking for Mr. Right! I came across an article written by Charli Penn, a writer for Essence Magazine, who interviewed Will Smith on his 13year SOLID marriage to the lovely Jada Pinkett Smith. This article caters to a married couple trying to keep things solid and fresh, however, somethings still apply...As you know, it is always a good look to plan for the future, so you won't make mistakes other women have in the past, or even mistakes you've made once before. I suggest you read this "short but to the point" article, reflect, and write down things you could possibly do better in your relationship, or even for yourself. It usually isn't always a man's fault things don't work out, so lets learn how we can present ourselves in a way that knock out all the bullshit. If we start at home with us, map out what we want, and what we can bring to the table, then maybe that will cut out all the crap we deal on a day to day basis with the other sex..

Grab a bottle, sit, reflect, and lets write down our flaws & all ladys...

Here's the gist of the interview:

If You Marry Your Best Friend, You’re Good
Every man wants to marry his homie. A lot of women will impress them, but it’s the one they can always laugh with and be themselves with that will ultimately impress them the most. If you can be yourselves around each other, 100 percent of the time, and they can make you laugh like no one else can, you’ll never have a dull moment together.

Remind Him of What He Has
When you start to feel that you’re nagging your husband to the point of no return and nothing you’re saying is getting through, Will suggests you try a new approach. Hold him close, look him right in the eyes, and tell him that you love him, you’re right there, and you always will be, BUT you need him to pick his socks up – right now. As Will puts it, it’s important to remind him that your request is coming from a good place, and what you want is a small thing in the grand scheme of things.

All Men Need A Little Space
If you don’t give your husband thirty minutes to himself when he first gets home he’ll stop coming home. When I asked Will when a wife was supposed to say her piece, he responded, “anytime after that.” Will reminded me that everyone’s home needs to feel like a happy place, and it won’t if you’re “greeted with negativity” every time you enter the door.

Focus on Balance and Excitement Always
According to Will and Jada’s way of thinking about marriage, maintaining a happy union isn’t just about making time for one another, it’s about making the time count too. Excitement and mystery are everything, he said. Surprise them, let them know you love them, laugh together – whatever it takes to put a smile on their face.

I Wanna Be Down, BUT WHERE CAN I FIND YOU?!

Hey HunnyBees!!

I told you I was making a come back :)

For the past few months, I've noticed that my girls and I have been on the prowl to find a man... or several lol... We are all very attractive WOMEN above the age of 25, and all are on the way to having successful careers. My girls and I have arrived at the age where we know what we want in life, have direction, and want to find a partner who will build our empires & dreams with us. We aren't looking to have a marriage proposal in the next 3-6 months, but we are looking for someone following the same path we want to take. We are looking for a man with a plan who is willing to attempt to dive into the thought of possiblities with his possible soul mate.

The problem is, WHERE DO YOU FIND A BROTHA THAT WANTS TO BE DOWN?>

Lately we've been going out more, trying to find places to meet eligible bachelors, and so far, we haven't been too successful. We've tried sports bars, lounges, lounges/bowling alleys lol, and even just having a girls night out at a restaurant...still, nada! Usually the saying goes "If you look to hard for something, you'll never find what you're looking for", but come on!!! Give us something to work with Baby Jesus.. a nice conversation and some follow up will do! And if possible, please just let him have a job and be able to spot me on Super sizing my Big Mac Meal every now & then...

So HunnyBee's, you tell me, where does a young woman go to find a brotha with a plan??

I've done some research on a few websites of other women asking the same question. Below is what they've come up with. Please HunnyBees, give other women looking, as well as myself, some answers :)

HunnyBee...WheRe's Your Free??

I recieved a text from a friend I hadn't spoken to in 2 years. He asked me how I was doing...the usual, and stated he came across my hunnybeefree blog. I hadn't completely forgotten about my hunnybee posts, as they served as a outlet for both my talents and personal thoughts, but when he asked me if I still wrote, the last thing I remembered writing was a letter to my best friend that passed a few months ago.

Last weekend...
My grandmother asked me what my plans are in life, my passions, and when I am going to start putting things in action. Currently I'm working fulltime, I pay my own bills, I'm stressed everyday of the week, except Fridays lol, and I'm TIRED as hell... Naturally, I looked at my grandmother like she was crazy...lol.. My thoughts were, "Lady, I'm living right now! This is my plan...I'm making it right?!"

Yesterday...
My bestfriend came across my last post, not recognizing the date, and congradulated me for writing, as she remembers how free I felt after posting on my blog. After she congradulated me, she realized the date on the last blog was Novemeber 2010...Clearly, she was mistaken.

Today & Every other day, I. Must. BLOGGGGGG!

See you soon Hunnybee's...Send me good vibes & motivation!! Ask the Universe to provide good topics to discuss!
